PV is a methodology that can empower communities by building capacity and self-esteem in communication, to analyze data as Participants rapidly learn how to use video and sound equipment through team building exercises and making short films based on local knowledge, community feedback – this establishes a baseline for monitoring and evaluation.

When PV is combined with Most Significant Change it can be used to establish a midline and measure the impact of a program on people’s lives through Stories of Change. Being ideal for cultures with a storytelling tradition can empower the most marginalized to have a voice based on engaged consent, community ownership, and community perspectives.
